Located in the upper stream of Murasaki River within the national forest in Dobaru, this waterfall originates on Mt. Fukuchi. The top of the waterfall flows from a height of approx. 30m.
There is much to enjoy in this natural landscape of cherry blossoms in spring, the shade of trees in summer, and autumn leaves in fall. The place name comes from the idea that a woman's true face (sugao) would be visible after her makeup is washed away by the waterfall's spray.
